Job Overview
We are hiring a creative, strategic, and experienced Global Communications and Engagement Officer based in Kathmandu, Nepal. This role is ideal for someone passionate about international development, digital storytelling, and content-driven fundraising.
As a key member of the Global Fundraising and Communications Team, you will lead the creation of donor reports, digital campaigns, and social media content. You’ll collaborate across borders to deliver compelling stories that connect audiences with the mission and work of UWS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Donor Communications & Reporting
- Manage the global donor reporting calendar.
- Coordinate report production with in-country teams (Nepal, Myanmar, Madagascar).
- Ensure timely, inspiring, and accurate delivery of donor communications.
- Create templates and feedback systems to maintain high-quality content.
- Write and edit film and written reports that align with brand messaging.
2. Digital Content & Social Media Engagement
- Plan and publish weekly posts across UWS social platforms.
- Repurpose existing content (blogs, donor stories) into engaging digital assets.
- Design visuals using Canva and monitor content performance.
- Collaborate on annual plans and digital KPIs.
3. Central Story & Content Bank Management
- Build and manage a global story bank of case studies and impact data.
- Develop reusable content for fundraising teams across regions.
- Create narrative-driven collateral for campaigns and donor journeys.
4. Global Marketing and Fundraising Support
- Support global campaigns, donor engagement, and event collateral.
- Maintain brand integrity in all written and visual communications.
- Work alongside MEAL and programme teams for accurate reporting.
- Update webpages and assist UWS Germany and Singapore teams when needed.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork
- Build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
- Promote and model inclusive, values-driven communication.
- Become a HubSpot champion within the team.
- Support internal communications and cross-functional marketing tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- Proven experience in writing creative, compelling donor communications.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and campaign planning.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Canva, CRM tools (HubSpot or similar), and social media platforms.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to edit video content for digital channels.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
Desirable
- Experience with international NGOs and remote collaboration.
- Knowledge of global education issues.
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with HubSpot or Mailchimp.
