The Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC Nepal) is a national-level non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to advancing women’s human rights, empowerment, and social justice across Nepal. WOREC actively campaigns against violence against women and promotes economic, social, and cultural rights.

The organization operates in multiple districts including Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Dang, Kailali, and Rukum, with additional work in Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, and Saptari. The central office is located in Lalitpur, Nepal.


👩‍💼 Position Overview

The District Coordinator (DC) will report directly to the Executive Director (ED) and coordinate closely with program and finance departments. The DC will provide leadership in organizational development, program management, quality assurance, documentation, and stakeholder coordination at the district level.

This role ensures effective implementation of WOREC’s key thematic areas:

  • Human Rights and Social Justice
  • Ecological Justice and Women’s Leadership
  • Quality Care and Integrated Program Approach

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective implementation of WOREC’s policies, rules, and guidelines within the district office.
  • Supervise staff, volunteers, and consultants while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Develop and execute capacity-building programs for staff and community-based organizations.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for district-level teams.
  • Support central team functions in administration, HR, and information management.
  • Oversee financial management and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Lead project proposal development, donor engagement, and partnership building.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and report project activities on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with local governments, NGOs, and civil society to strengthen advocacy efforts.
  • Conduct regular field visits, technical supervision, and quality assessments.
  • Prepare high-quality project reports and documentation, including success stories.
  • Represent WOREC in alliances, forums, and policy-level discussions.
  • Lead grassroots campaigns for women’s rights and social justice.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in human rights, gender equality, or social justice sectors.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, policy engagement, and capacity building.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field areas.
