Vacancy Announcement: Senior Finance and Administration Officer
FIAN Nepal is a member-based human rights organization, registered as an NGO with the District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu, and affiliated with FIAN International headquartered in Germany. Established in 2008, FIAN Nepal works to promote and advocate for the human right to adequate food in Nepal, with a particular focus on vulnerable individuals and communities.
We are currently seeking applications from highly qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals for the position of:
Position: Senior Finance and Administration Officer
Location: Kathmandu
Number of Vacancies: 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the financial management of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and national legal regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts in close coordination with the Executive Director and program teams.
- Coordinate and manage audits and other statutory financial processes.
- Supervise administrative functions including procurement, human resources, office logistics, and general office management.
- Administer payroll, tax filings, CIT, insurance, and other legal obligations.
- Support project teams with financial planning, monitoring, and maintaining internal controls.
- Maintain and update accounting systems and software tools used by the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in financial management, preferably within development organizations or NGOs.
- In-depth knowledge of Nepali accounting standards and taxation laws.
- Experience with donor-funded project financial management and reporting (e.g., Misereor, Brot für die Welt, or similar).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., FAMAS, Tally, or similar platforms).
- Strong communication skills in both English and Nepali.
