1. Position Overview

The Program Officer will support effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities at district and community levels. The role focuses on:

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Program Implementation

  • Support planning and execution of activities in health, nutrition, DRR, and school safety.
  • Facilitate trainings, orientations, community meetings, and school-level programs.
  • Work closely with mothers’ groups, adolescents, teachers, and community structures.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of all project interventions.

B. Monitoring & Field Support

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits.
  • Collect field data, photos, attendance sheets, and activity documentation.
  • Support MEAL processes (baseline, monitoring, assessments).
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GESI, and accountability standards.

C. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with Municipalities, Ward Offices, Schools, Health Facilities, and Community Groups.
  • Participate in district-level cluster meetings and review sessions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners and local authorities.

D. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for submission to the District Coordinator.
  • Document case studies, success stories, and best practices.
  • Support data entry and proper record management.

E. Logistics & Support Functions

  • Facilitate distribution of project materials and maintain documentation.
  • Provide logistical support for workshops, trainings, and field visits.
  • Support admin/finance teams in resource management.

3. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NGO/community-level program implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of health promotion, nutrition, DRR, community mobilization, and local governance.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, reporting, and email communication.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field areas.
