🏗️ About the Role
MCA-Nepal is seeking an experienced and visionary Deputy Executive Director (DED) – Engineering to join our senior leadership team. This high-impact role is essential for overseeing and executing critical infrastructure projects under the Millennium Challenge Compact—a $500M+ partnership between the Government of Nepal and the United States via MCC. The compact focuses on electricity transmission and road maintenance projects to support economic growth and cross-border power trade.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee engineering teams and project managers delivering the Electricity Transmission and Road Maintenance Projects.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with other Deputy Executive Directors, the Executive Director, and MCC representatives for smooth execution.
- Ensure timely project delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Provide strategic input and reports to the Board of Directors and stakeholders.
- Drive inter-agency coordination, capacity building, and performance management.
- Act as Officer-in-Charge in the absence of the Executive Director.
📚 Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required); Master’s or higher preferred. Relevant fields include Electrical, Civil, Transmission, Electronics, Structural, or Transport Engineering.
- Experience:
- At least 10 years of cumulative professional experience in infrastructure project development and implementation.
- Proven leadership in managing technical teams and multimillion-dollar projects (minimum project value: USD 20M).
- Experience with donor-funded infrastructure projects (MCC, World Bank, ADB, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of government procedures, reporting, environmental and social compliance, and gender considerations.
