The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of The Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a charitable organization established in 1969 to support ex-Gurkha veterans and their communities across Nepal.

The following positions are currently open:
- Vehicle Mechanic/Mechanical Transport Assistant – HQ, Pokhara
- Project Supervisor – HQ Project Cell initially; AWC location to be confirmed
- Cluster Pharmacist – AWC Butwal
All three positions are placed at EG3L1, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 76,571. Additional benefits and facilities will be provided according to GWT Nepal Standing Instructions.
1. Vehicle Mechanic/Mechanical Transport Assistant
Location: Headquarters, Pokhara
Level: EG3L1
Basic Salary: NPR 76,571 per month
Key Responsibilities
The Vehicle Mechanic/Mechanical Transport Assistant will provide technical, coordination, maintenance, and senior driving support to ensure that the organization’s vehicle fleet remains safe, roadworthy, and operational.
Key duties include:
- Carrying out preventive vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Conducting technical assessments of vehicles and identifying mechanical faults.
- Planning and monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Supervising outsourced vehicle repairs and checking the quality of work.
- Reviewing repair cost estimates and ensuring cost-effective maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate fleet, safety, and compliance records.
- Performing senior driving duties when required.
- Mentoring drivers on safe driving practices and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting efficient fleet utilization and reducing vehicle downtime.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Experience with 4WD vehicles is required; motorcycle experience is desirable.
- Valid Nepali driving license in Category A and B.
- Category F driving license is desirable.
- Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension, braking systems, and transmission.
- Ability to systematically diagnose mechanical faults.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, dedication, resourcefulness, and professional ethics.
- Experience in NGO/INGO equipment care or fleet management will be an advantage.
2. Project Supervisor
Location: HQ Project Cell initially; AWC location to be confirmed
Level: EG3L1
Basic Salary: NPR 76,571 per month
Key Responsibilities
The Project Supervisor will be responsible for technical supervision and monitoring of construction-related projects in different geographical areas of Nepal.
The position involves frequent field visits to flat, hilly, and remote areas to conduct technical site surveys and monitor:
- School construction projects.
- New house construction.
- House enhancement and improvement works.
- Project implementation and progress.
- Technical quality and compliance.
- Field reporting and documentation.
The Project Supervisor may be based at the Headquarters Project Cell or an Area Welfare Centre depending on project workload, geographical coverage, and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should meet one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 3 years of experience supervising construction projects; or
- Sub-overseer in Civil Engineering with 6 years of relevant work experience.
Additional requirements include:
- Computer literacy and word-processing skills.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software.
- Experience working with a government department, INGO, or NGO in Nepal is desirable.
- Valid Nepali Category A driving license.
- Experience riding/driving on rough terrains.
- Category B driving license is desirable.
- Experience with WASH-related programs will be an advantage.
3. Cluster Pharmacist
Location: AWC Butwal
Level: EG3L1
Basic Salary: NPR 76,571 per month
Key Responsibilities
The Cluster Pharmacist will be responsible for pharmacy-related clinical care, clinical governance, and pharmacy service delivery in accordance with GWT Nepal standards, policies, procedures, and medical service requirements.
The position will support pharmacy services at:
- Key Area Welfare Centres (AWCs).
- Non-Key AWCs.
- Patrol bases.
- Medical centres.
The Cluster Pharmacist will work closely with healthcare professionals and medical centre teams to ensure effective pharmacy service management and delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- At least 2 years of post-qualification work experience.
- Current unrestricted registration with the Nepal Pharmacy Council (NPC).
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of pharmacy inventory software.
- Working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing pharmacy services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in reputed private hospitals or community pharmacies will be an advantage.
- Previous experience with international organizations is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with medical and non-medical staff.

Contracts may be extended depending on organizational requirements and individual performance.
