The Embassy of Japan in Nepal, located in Panipokhari, Kathmandu, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Information and Public Relations Staff. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (any field) from a recognized institution.
  • Work Experience:
    • At least 3 years of professional experience.
    • Proven experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Languages:
    • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Nepali.
    • Speech writing skills are a plus.
    • Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or equivalent) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Media and Communication Skills:
    • Ability to build media relationships and gain event coverage.
    • Experience in managing social media and website content (updates, posts, media handling).
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills and Additional Assets:

  • Experience living in or immersion in Japanese culture.
  • Basic to intermediate video editing skills.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or other content creation tools.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Highly organized, responsible, and reliable.
  • A team player with a passion for public relations and diplomacy.
