Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of NPR 57,246 (net of tax). The contract duration depends on program requirements and available funding.
Purpose of the Position
The main objective of this position is to support the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) by providing safe transportation, logistics assistance, and operational support to WHO staff and partners.
The role contributes to strengthening Nepalโs health emergency response system and supporting the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in achieving national health goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Driver will perform the following duties:
- Drive WHO office vehicles for transporting staff, visitors, and official delegates.
- Deliver documents, diplomatic pouches, and other official materials safely.
- Provide airport pick-up and assist with visa and customs formalities.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure regular servicing.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and mileage.
- Report mechanical issues and coordinate with garages for repairs.
- Follow UN safety regulations and traffic rules.
- Ensure vehicle security when parked or unattended.
- Assist with convoy duties and document photocopying when required.
- Report security incidents or disruptions to supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education Qualification
Essential Qualification
- Minimum Middle Level Education (8th Standard Pass)
Desirable Qualification
- Basic First Aid Knowledge
- Formal Driver Training Certificate
- Defensive Driving Training
Experience Requirements
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a safe driving record.
- Knowledge of driving rules and minor vehicle repair.
- Experience driving in hilly or difficult terrain.
Desirable Experience
- Driving various vehicles such as car, jeep, van, or minibus.
- Work experience with UN agencies, embassies, or international organizations.
Required Skills
- Valid Light Motor Vehicle Driving License
- Good eyesight (vision proof required)
- Knowledge of road safety rules
- Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of Nepalโs road routes and geography
- Ability to read maps and follow instructions
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of radio, phone, and email communication
Language Requirements
- Nepali: Expert knowledge
- English: Medium working knowledge
