❤️ Position Overview: Social Worker – Health & Wellness

The Social Mobilization Officer (Social Worker) will work under the Associate Manager – Health & Wellness to assess and support students and families through individualized assistance plans. This role focuses on counseling, case management, community mobilization, and social support, ensuring the wellbeing of children and families served by Kopila Valley.

The position requires empathy, communication skills, and a passion for working with children and vulnerable communities.


🔹 Key Responsibilities

1. Planning, Assessment & Support

  • Assess students’ and families’ needs, strengths, and challenges to develop intervention plans.
  • Provide counseling, emotional, and social support to children and families.
  • Advocate for beneficiaries’ access to education, health, and community resources.
  • Recommend and coordinate referral support within and outside KVSS.

2. Documentation & Case Management

  • Maintain confidential case records and update digital and physical files.
  • Monitor family progress and modify intervention plans as necessary.
  • Participate in program evaluations, reflections, and new initiative design.
  • Use tools like Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) for community development.

3. Community Outreach & Education

  • Strengthen parent-school relationships through awareness and engagement programs.
  • Conduct community training, workshops, and seminars on parenting, education, and social justice.
  • Organize networking visits and events with like-minded organizations.

4. Additional Duties

  • Respond to emergencies and humanitarian activities.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Contribute to a safe, loving, and child-friendly environment.

🎓 Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in community mobilization, social work, counseling, or NGO sector.
  • Language: Fluent in Nepali and English (both written and verbal).
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Case management and data documentation experience.
    • Passion for children’s welfare and community empowerment.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
