About the Project โ POSHAN/MCW
The POSHAN/MCW project will be implemented in five districts across Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Madhesh provinces. It aims to improve the health and nutritional status of mothers and children by:
- Strengthening health and nutrition systems
- Promoting optimal care and feeding practices
- Enhancing dietary diversity and household food security
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene
- Advancing womenโs empowerment and leadership
The project is delivered in collaboration with iDE and MAP International.
Position Overview: Nutrition Manager
Reporting to: Team Leader
Location: Surkhet, with travel to field sites as required
As the Nutrition Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the maternal and child health nutrition components of the POSHAN/MCW project. You will lead technical support efforts, coordinate with government stakeholders, and ensure effective implementation through CARE’s thematic teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance on maternal and child nutrition across project sites
- Work closely with health, WASH, SBCC, and gender teams to ensure integrated programming
- Manage and support district-based specialists for quality delivery
- Ensure the sustainability of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive approaches
- Liaise with local and national authorities to strengthen capacity and ownership
- Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and knowledge-sharing efforts
