The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal (GWT-N), the field arm of The Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, is a charitable organization working to support ex-Gurkha veterans and their communities across Nepal. Established in 1969, the Trust has been at the forefront of humanitarian service in Nepal.

We are currently inviting applications from qualified, experienced, and committed Nepali citizens for the following full-time positions:


🔹 1. Safeguarding Assistant

📌 Location: GWT-N Headquarters, Tallo Deep, Pokhara
💼 Position Level: EG3
💰 Monthly Salary: NPR 72,237 (plus other benefits)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and training to caregivers, families, and vulnerable beneficiaries.
  • Support community members facing safeguarding risks and ensure access to support services.
  • Engage in community mobilisation and empowerment activities.

🎓 Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Intermediate education with 4+ years in social work/safeguarding;
  • Or: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Social Sciences with 2+ years’ experience.
  • Strong facilitation and community engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas of Nepal for fieldwork.
  • Prior experience in I/NGO safeguarding roles in rural Nepal (preferred).
  • Experience working with vulnerable or elderly groups is desirable.
  • Additional safeguarding training or certifications are a plus.

🔹 2. Cluster Pharmacist

📌 Location: Area Welfare Centre (AWC), Shivadhara, Dharan
💼 Position Level: EG3
💰 Monthly Salary: NPR 72,237 (plus other benefits)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacy services at key and non-key Area Welfare Centres.
  • Ensure high-quality clinical care, inventory, and compliance with Nepal Pharmacy Council standards.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals across assigned medical centres.

🎓 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Registered and licensed Pharmacist with the Nepal Pharmacy Council.
  • Experience using pharmacy inventory software and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Previous work in hospital or community pharmacy settings.
  • Experience in international organisations will be an advantage.

  • Basic salary of NPR 72,237 per month for both positions.
  • Additional benefits and allowances as per GWT(N) Standing Instructions.
  • Initial three-year contract, extendable based on performance and organizational needs.
