🎯 Role Overview
The Associate Project Officer supports project administration, analytical work, procurement processes, and portfolio management for projects delegated to the Nepal Resident Mission.
You will work closely with international staff, project leaders, government agencies, and partner organizations.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Project Administration & Monitoring
- Assist in administering complex, delegated ADB projects in Nepal.
- Monitor loan and technical assistance (TA) project progress.
- Follow up with Executing Agencies (EAs) on progress reports and audited financial statements.
- Update project performance reports and technical assistance performance reports.
Procurement & Contract Management
- Support procurement processes and review tender and evaluation documents.
- Prepare draft comments and responses on procurement matters.
- Maintain procurement databases, contract award records, and complaint tracking.
- Assist in preparing Procurement Committee Papers.
Field Missions & Reporting
- Participate in field missions and assist with meeting arrangements.
- Prepare mission documentation and support project completion missions.
- Contribute data, appendices, and formatting for Project Completion Reports (PCRs).
Disbursement, Financial Tracking & Data Analysis
- Follow up with EAs on withdrawal applications and financial submissions.
- Review applications for compliance with ADB rules.
- Assist with updating the Loan/Grant Financial Information System (L/GFIS).
- Support quarterly portfolio reviews and sector performance frameworks.
Team Support
- Provide analytical, statistical, and administrative support to project leaders.
- Train and guide local junior staff.
🎓 Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project management, procurement, or construction administration experience.
- Experience with international development organizations preferred.
- Strong skills in data analysis, report writing, and MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of ADB procurement policies is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with government agencies, donors, and multicultural teams.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
