🔍 Job Overview

Standard Chartered Bank Nepal is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Analyst, Liability Operations (Senior Assistant) to support its Liability Operations team. The role involves reviewing and processing client documents, managing bank accounts, debit card and cheque book issuance, signature maintenance, MIS management, and regulatory reporting in accordance with NRB and group policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify documents for opening Current and Savings Accounts under the WRB segment.
  • Handle account modifications, KYC updates, and e-statement/online banking subscriptions or cancellations.
  • Capture, amend, and delete client signatures in the core banking system.
  • Open loan-related subsidiary accounts and establish required relationships (e.g., guarantor, co-borrower, etc.).
  • Process service requests including account amendments, reactivation of dormant accounts, signature updates, letter issuance, etc.
  • Manage physical stock of Debit Cards and Cheque Books.
  • Handle issuance of Credit Cards, Travel Cards, and Online Cards.
  • Perform financial transactions, tax reconciliations, and reporting to IRD.
  • Maintain accurate MIS reports, track deferral documents, and ensure internal controls.
  • Provide support to Relationship Managers and Frontline teams.
  • Ensure high-quality service standards and address internal/external queries independently.
  • Adhere to both local and group compliance policies, banking regulations, and code of conduct.

  • Identify and mitigate financial crime, sanctions, and reputational risks in line with Group standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank guidelines and internal audit protocols.
  • Uphold the Bank’s Conduct Principles, including Fair Client Outcomes and Effective Market Conduct.

🎯 Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in Liability Operations or Retail Banking
  • Familiarity with core banking systems, AML policies, and KYC guidelines
  • Sound knowledge of NRB regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; moderate proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
