Job Summary
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a Board-facing executive responsible for leading the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM/IRMF). The role ensures effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of enterprise-wide risks while maintaining compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) regulations and international banking standards.
The CRO provides independent risk oversight to the Board of Directors and senior management while strengthening the Bank’s risk culture and supporting sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Lead the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (IRMF).
- Develop and implement the Bank’s Risk Appetite Framework.
- Advise the Board on strategic and emerging risks.
- Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Strengthen enterprise-wide risk governance.
Credit Risk Management
- Oversee credit portfolio quality.
- Monitor sector concentration risk.
- Supervise credit scorecards and risk models.
- Manage NPA forecasting and recovery analysis.
- Improve portfolio risk analytics.
Market & Liquidity Risk
- Monitor Interest Rate Risk (IRRBB).
- Manage treasury and liquidity risks.
- Oversee Asset Liability Management (ALM).
- Conduct stress testing and macroeconomic scenario analysis.
Operational Risk
- Strengthen operational resilience.
- Oversee fraud prevention.
- Manage business continuity planning.
- Improve disaster recovery and outsourcing risk management.
Digital & Cyber Risk
- Supervise cybersecurity and information security risks.
- Oversee cloud computing risks.
- Manage Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance.
- Ensure technology investment risk oversight.
Climate & ESG Risk
- Develop ESG risk management strategies.
- Lead climate stress testing.
- Monitor sustainability and green financing risks.
- Identify emerging enterprise risks.
Capital Management
- Oversee ICAAP.
- Lead capital forecasting.
- Monitor Risk Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC).
- Implement risk-based pricing.
Model Risk Management
- Supervise IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models.
- Validate credit scoring models.
- Monitor stress testing models.
- Ensure independent model validation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
- Lead Basel implementation.
- Manage regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits.
Risk Culture
- Promote enterprise-wide risk awareness.
- Conduct risk management training.
- Strengthen governance practices.

Required Qualification
