Overview

The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu is seeking qualified and eligible applicants for the position of Guard Force Commander in the Regional Security Office.

This is a supervisory position with responsibility for security of U.S. government facilities and residences.

Duties

The Guard Force Commander is responsible for:

  • Supervising and planning all local guard force (LGF) operations at U.S. government facilities and residences.
  • Providing security during official functions and events.
  • Ensuring all guards meet annual training and performance standards.
  • Detecting, deterring, and responding to criminal or terrorist threats against U.S. personnel and property.
  • Maintaining security budgets, overtime records, and equipment inventories.
  • Conducting access control, visitor screening, and emergency response duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

โœ… Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

โœ… Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in the military, police, or security services.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

โœ… Language Proficiency:

  • Good working knowledge of English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Good working knowledge of Nepali (speaking, reading, writing).

โœ… Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to operate security systems, alarms, and radios.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods in varied weather.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must hold a valid local Class B driving license (Car/Jeep).
