Job Summary
The Gold Tester will be responsible for verifying the authenticity, purity, and weight of gold items, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s standards and regulatory guidelines. This role demands precision, integrity, and in-depth technical knowledge of gold testing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and determine the purity, weight, and authenticity of gold and other precious metals.
- Operate testing equipment including acid test kits, electronic gold testers, and XRF machines.
- Maintain detailed and accurate testing records and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with the Bank’s standards and Nepal Rastra Bank regulations.
- Handle all gold items securely and maintain their integrity during testing.
- Provide expert advice on gold valuation to the Bank’s stakeholders.
- Detect and report counterfeit or substandard gold items.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong technical expertise in gold testing tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with gold purity standards and valuation methods.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling precious metals.
- Proficiency in MS Office and gold testing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English.
- Strong ethical standards, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Qualification: SEE/SLC passed.
- Age Limit: Above 30 years as of 21st August 2025.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Gold Tester in A, B, or C class Bank/Financial Institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank.
- Must be proficient in handling computers and MS Office applications.
- Must be willing to work anywhere in Nepal.
- Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate from the competent authority in Nepal.
